The Bahrain Institute of Pearls and Gemstones (Danat) plans to promote collaboration with Bahrain Polytechnic to qualify more national cadres in the domains of pearl extraction, examination and trade.
For this Noora Jamsheer, Danat’s CEO, discussed with the CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, Professor Ciarán Catháin, the provision of training and career prospects for college students and graduates at Danat.
At the meeting a common working ground was identified for introducing students of the Polytechnic to Danat’s diverse activities and present before them the rewarding employment opportunities in the pearl and gemstone industry. The topics discussed include jointly preparing and publishing studies and research conducted by Danat and utilising the college's research and scientific capabilities in this field.
Investing in national talent
During the meeting, Jamsheer emphasised Danat’s readiness to cooperate with the Polytechnic and pointed out that investing in Bahrain's national talents is an essential element of the country's plans to rejuvenate the pearl sector and boost the nation's position as a world leader in its field.
Catháin expressed his admiration for Danat, especially its efforts to enhance Bahrain's reputation regionally and globally in the pearl industry.
Meanwhile, Danat participated in the Annual Career Fair organised by Polytechnic as part of the institute's keenness to familiarise national cadres with pearling.
Jamsheer said the exhibition allows students to learn about labour market requirements and stated Danat’s eagerness to continue participating in this exhibition alongside many other national institutions.
