UAE-based Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with a premier e-learning platform, AIMentor.net, to advance the supportive e-training platform's vision to produce young capabilities and equip them with the necessary tools needed in building a diversified economy based on innovation.
This comes in line with the continuing efforts towards translating the vision of the country's wise leadership to support, encourage and empower young people to ensure the sustainability of the development and construction process, said the statement from HBMSU.
AlMentor.net, an innovative and advanced platform for learning and self-development via the Internet, is based in Dubai Silicon Oasis.
It offers motivational and informative video content, along with a series of training courses that provide the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance the capabilities of entrepreneurs throughout the Arab world.
The new partnership represents an important addition to the University's efforts towards providing the new generation with the essential skills needed to be at pace with the requirements of the 21st century, by providing them with quality education, including electronic training based on the latest technological innovations.
The agreement was signed by HBMSU’s Vice-Chancellor (Learners Development) Fahd Al Saadi and AlMentor.net co-founder and COO Ibrahim Kamel in the presence of Dr Mansoor Al Awar, the University Chancellor and Dr. Ihab Fikry, the founder and CEO of AlMentor.net.
Both parties affirmed their commitment to develop, launch and implement initiatives aimed at preparing Arab youth, it stated.
Both parties agreed to utilize accumulative experiences, advanced technological capabilities, knowledge and academic resources in achieving its common aspirations, which fall in line with the UAE's move to educate the new generation and allow them to lead the growth and sustainability of the national economy--positioning the UAE as one of the most advanced countries in the world.
Dr Al Awar said HBMSU remained steadfast in its commitment to support national trends in enabling young people to lead efforts to achieve goals of future strategies in support of establishing the UAE leadership on the global map.
"The agreement affirms our value towards sharing growth to move forward in the process of re-engineering the future of higher education based on innovation and the starting and transformation," he stated.
Al Awar said the new partnership was aimed towards creating self-learning content via the Internet, opening new horizons to continue in its effective contributions to harness advanced technology to advance the educational system and enhance lifelong learning opportunities for all, based on the principle of equal opportunities and in line with our full commitment to make a positive difference in peoples’ lives through smart education and lifelong learning.
Dr Fikry said the world is moving towards the digital learning era and the vision and goals of HBMSU fall in line with the global trend and the modern Arab learner’s way of thinking.
