Fourth Industrial Revolution Summit planned in Bahrain

A major exhibition and summit covering the Fourth Industrial Revolution is being held in Bahrain next year which will see  top experts discuss the latest innovations and their impact.

The first IR4.0 ME Expo and Summit in 2020, organised by Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE), will be held from October 6 to 8, 2020.

The ambitious event will take place under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of Bahrain, at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre.

Coined by the World Economic Forum (WEF), 4IR is an umbrella term used to cover multiple technologies that, taken together, will potentially revolutionise many aspects of our work, life and business.

“The landmark event will feature four integral components,” said HCE Managing Director Jubran Abdulrahman. “The integrated components comprise an expo, a global standard summit, a Youth Speak Forum and an academy,” stated Abdulrahman.

The Middle East region has strong energy-related, industrial, manufacturing and agro-manufacturing companies. IR4.0 ME will look to these companies involved in key segments such as Energy and Environmental Protection, Industrial Metals, Manufacturing, Safety and Security, Logistics and Industrial Facilities, Maritime Industries as well as Training for Industry within the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

“IR4ME will serve to provide a ‘big-tent’, bringing together thought leaders contributing and leading the Fourth Industrial Revolution alongside companies and entrepreneurs who are innovators and practically involved in implementing IR4.0 to exchange ideas and showcase their products and expertise,“ commented IR4.0 ME event director Ahmed Suleiman.

The event will also target professionals interested in technological industrial advancement, as it will touch base on several core technologies: Advanced Materials, Smart Manufacturing, Energy, Cloud & Big Data, Synthetic Biology, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Robots, Blockchain, 3D Printing, and the Internet of Things.

“We have been working on the outline of IR4.0 ME for over four months to develop the elements of the event.  From our initial discussions we have had enthusiastic support and encouragement which bodes well for the actual event in 2020,“ said Abdulrahman.

IR4.0 has already gathered the stakeholder support of Middle East Solar Association (MESIA), Bahrain Solar Association, PhD Chambers of Commerce in India, Assocham India, AIESEC and TDAP Pakistan. – TradeArabia News Service
