Citi introduced today PayAll and Global Wallet features to its newly revamped Citi Mobile App.
In a first by a bank in the UAE, Global Wallet is a new feature that allows customers to make purchases overseas without incurring additional currency conversion charges. Citi PayAll is a service that allows customers to use their credit cards to make big payments and earn rewards through the mobile application.
“The next generation Citi Mobile App will change the way customers manage their payments, purchases and practical needs. We continue to lead the market with the introduction of Global Wallet and PayAll and develop our mobile app to offer relevant products, giving every customer complete control of their finances, said Dinesh Sharma, GCG Business Head, Middle East. ‘’We use leading capabilities and the best available technology, particularly on mobile, which is at the core of the Bank’s digital strategy and customer experience focus”.
How it works…
If you are planning a trip abroad there is no more hassle of waiting in queues at currency exchanges or the risk of travelling with wads of cash. All you have to do is turn on Global Wallet on the Citi Mobile app and add your foreign currency accounts, which will then instantly link to your Citibank Debit MasterCard. The Citibank Debit MasterCard will automatically switch to the currency you are transacting in, allowing you to shop without incurring any extra fees. You can access up to eight foreign currencies on your card and top up your currencies when you find exchange rates favourable.
Why take advantage of this?
Customers who travel for business, family or leisure or shop online on international websites will benefit from saving on foreign exchange and transaction fees and enjoy the convenience of accessing their accounts in US dollars, Australian dollars, Canadian dollars, GB pounds, New Zealand dollars, Japanese yens, Euros and Swiss francs all with one single debit card.
Citi PayAll: a credit card that can pay all expenses
Citi Credit Card holders can also, earn airline miles, reward points or cashback on large one-time or recurring payments like your rent, with the new Citi PayAll feature, all for just a small fee. Citi PayAll supports large recurring payments above Dh1,000 like rent, education fees and property maintenance fees wherever card payments are not accepted today, turning big spends into equally big rewards that customers can redeem for free flights or upgrades, merchandise or cashback. And, setting up the payment is so easy with just a few taps.
Pay for transactions with points on the go
Citi will also introduce soon a new convenient redemption option which allows cardholders to instantly pay for purchases made with their Citi credit cards by using their Citi reward points or miles through the Citi Mobile App in just a few clicks. This new feature makes it even easier for customers to redeem their reward points. – TradeArabia News Service
