Italian flavour at Hotel Missoni Kuwait
Kuwait, June 2, 2011
The new Hotel Missoni’s four food and beverage outlets – Cucina, Choco Café, Luna and the Pool Bar- have brought authentic culinary experience to Kuwait.
Rosita Missoni, creative director of Hotel Missoni, played a prominent part in the creation of the hotel’s food outlets. Going beyond design, Rosita brought her passion for food to each individual restaurant, said a statement.
Set in the very heart of the hotel is Cucina, much like the loved Italian kitchen, this is where life happens. The kitchen is traditionally at the heart of the Italian home and so Cucina lies at the heart of Hotel Missoni Kuwait.
World renowned chef, Giorgio Locatelli, worked with Rosita to create the Cucina menus. The pair created a menu that features contemporary dishes founded on the very principles of classic Italian cuisine.
Contemporary yet elegant, the restaurant can seat up to 106 people. To ensure only the freshest ingredients are used, the restaurant changes its menus in accordance with the seasons, the hotel said.
Situated on the 18th floor of the hotel is Luna. The restaurant/lounge offers sweeping views of the Arabian Gulf and the Kuwait city skyline.
“True to its name - the venue comes alive at night, the place to meet, see and be seen,” said a spokesman.
The restaurant’s menu takes its inspiration from light Mediterranean dishes fused with traditional Arabic cuisine. With its distinctive flavours, comfortable seating and the striking effects of light and dark, Luna is the perfect place to get together for an evening with friends, he said.
Choco Café is a light and bright space with an enticing menu. Inspired by the Italian passion for great coffee and chocolate, Choco Café is designed to be the place to meet, rest and replenish. With a grand terrace overlooking the Arabian Gulf, the venue takes its inspiration from the classic café society prominent in Italian life. Guests can indulge in a variety of chocolates made in-house, decadent cakes, heavenly pastries all accompanied by the staple, classic rich Italian coffee.
“Not to be missed are the breathtaking views of the sunset from the pool terrace, the cool breeze, the revitalizing fresh juices and light savoury meals at the Pool Bar,” said the spokesman. – TradeArabia News Service
