Dubai gears up to host 30 sports events this month

DUBAI, March 2, 2023

A total of 30 various competitive & community sports events will take place in Dubai during March, among which are seven international sports events.

The international events are set to be held in various locations of the Emirate in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council during the first week of the month.

Top on the list of these international sports events is the 4th Gov Games, which is hosted by Dubai from 2nd to 5th March with participation of 164 teams, among which are 27 teams from the cities challenge category, comprising teams from the various continents of the world.

The 31st Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships for Men continues with participation of eight of the best 20 tennis players in the world’s classification, among them are four of the winners of the Grand Salam Titles, and it is scheduled to be concluded on March 4.

The 14th Dubai Polo Gold Cup continues up to March 4 at the courts of Al-Habtoor Polo & Equestrian Club and Resort in Dubai with participation of eight handicapped teams. The Championship is classified as the 2nd among the polo championships in the world.

The 14th Fazza International Para Athletics Championships (the Grand Prix – Dubai 2023) is organized under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Chairman of DSC, and will be concluded on Thursday 2nd March. The event takes place at Dubai Club for People of Determination, with participation of 700 male & female players from 66 countries; among them are world & Paralympic champions, who won golden medals in Tokyo Paralympics 2020.

The Asian Teq Ball Championship is scheduled from 2nd to 5th March at the Bottom of Burj Khalifa in the Burj Park Downtown.

Hatta will host two championships in cycling & running on 5th March. In this regard, Hatta Cycling Challenge will be launched at 06:00 am from Hab Valley, while the Hatta Hills Run will start at 07:00 am from the front side of Hatta Fort Hotel. The race will be held with participation of more than 1000 male & female contestants of various ages and multi-nationalities.  

The Gymnastics International Championship takes place at Jumeirah Secondary School with participation of 300 female players from the various countries of the world. Hamdan Sports Complex hosts the Middle East International Swimming Championship with participation of 600 male & female swimmers from the various countries of the world, representing more than 30 teams, national teams & private clubs.

The competitions of the Lebanese Basketball League for Women continue at the University of Brighton in Barsha with participation of eight women teams and it will be concluded on 5th March. Dubai Fishing Championship is taking place at Dubai International Marine Club and will continue up to March 5.

The Community Family Fun Race for the sake of people of determination will be held Saturday 4th March at Noor Dubai People of Determination Center in Barsha 1st. The 10th edition of Dubai Taekwondo Championship (ITF) is held at Manipal Higher Education Academy in Dubai Academic City. The Dragon Boat Race takes place at Marsa Plaza in Dubai Festival City and the Community Golf Qualifier to be held at Dubai Hills Golf Club. Farma Football Cup and Dubai Colleges Rugby Championship will also be organized. The Modern Sailboat Racing will take place at Dubai Offshore Sailing Club.

The Hamilton Swimming Championships will be held at Hamdan Sports Complex on March 5. The King & Queen Swimming Championship is scheduled at the Western Beach in Jumeirah Palm. Th Run for Reading takes place at Zaabeel Park. Dubai Investments Complex Championship for Corporates is organized at Al-Salam School in Al-Tawar. The Padel Community Competition is arranged at Central Padel Dubai. The Modern Women Sailboat Racing will take place at Dubai Offshore Sailing Club and the Labor Sports Tournament continues at ENOC Complex in Al-Quoz. – TradeArabia News Service
