Aircraft shipments increase in H1, says report

Deliveries across almost all aircraft segments rose in the first six months (H1) of 2022 along with the overall value of the aircraft shipments, a report said.

Second quarter aircraft shipments, compared to the same period in 2021, saw piston airplanes increase 9.4% with 638 units, reported market research leader Research and Markets, citing the General Aviation Manufacturers Association’s (GAMA) Second Quarter 2022 General Aviation Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report.

Meanwhile turboprops increased 11.8% with 247 units, and business jets increased 9.5% with 289 units, according to the report.

The value of airplane deliveries through the second quarter of 2022  increased by 5.2% to $9.1 billion. Helicopter shipments remained steady compared to the second quarter of 2021. Piston helicopter deliveries increased 4.8% with 87 units, and turbine helicopter deliveries decreased 0.8% with 257 units.
