Custom Show Emirates to attract cars worth $136m

DUBAI, February 8, 2022

Cars worth more than AED500 million ($136 million) will take part in the seventh edition of the Custom Show Emirates scheduled to be held in March.
 
The Custom Show Emirates 2022 will be held from March 25 to 27 at the Dubai World Trade Center. 
Jamal Saleh bin Lahej, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Custom Event, stressed at a press conference that the show is the first exhibition of its kind displaying the largest selection of modified cars and motorcycles in the region.
 
He said the show has been a successful brand in the UAE and the region and this has led to the conclusion of a partnership agreement with the American organization, SEMA International, which has a long history of modified car exhibitions, worth $42 billion.
 
Bin Lahej added: "The exhibition has witnessed a great development since its launch in 2015 on an area of 15,000 sq ft internally and 12,310 sq ft in the external area, until it reached 47,000 sq ft internally and externally in 2019, and the number of firms participating in the exhibition in its last session hit 37 local and international car companies. The exhibition received 160,300 visitors since its launch until 2021, despite the circumstances the world went through.”
 
Omar Al-Attar, CEO of the Custom Show Emirates exhibition, said the exhibition had achieved great success in the past years, which made it the focus of the attention of companies and those interested in modifying cars and motorcycles.
 
Linda Spencer, Governmental and International Relations Officer for the American International SEMA Organization, said: “SEMA International was keen to open new horizons for cooperation in the field of car modification in the Middle East by signing a joint cooperation agreement with the Custom Show Emirates exhibition.” 
 
She said the organization expects the UAE to be the main base of its business to launch to the rest of the countries in the region.
 
The seventh session includes a qualitative competitions for participants and the public, where prizes amounting to AED500,000 will be offered, in addition to a valuable prize for the winners in the modified motorcycle category, which is a modern style motorcycle. 
 
The events will include Custom Show Emirates Drift Competition - Dubai Trade Center in the outdoor arena. – TradeArabia News Service
