Weather conditions delay Istanbul flights says Gulf Air

MANAMA, January 25, 2022

Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, has confirmed delay of its flights to and from Istanbul due to the severe snow storm currently affecting Turkey.

The snow storm has resulted in the closure of Istanbul International Airport and the diversion of flights to other airports in areas with limited hotel capacities and facilities, the airline said.

In addition, the bad weather conditions have made it challenging to all airlines passengers to find accommodations and restricted movements due to road blocks; which affected the possibility of leaving airports.

"While Istanbul International Airport remains closed, Gulf Air regrets this delay, which is beyond its control, and any inconvenience this may cause to its valued passengers. The airline confirms working closely with related authorities to help affected passengers and discuss solutions and options available to them; and affirms the safety and security of its passengers and crew is a top priority," said a statement. - TradeArabia News Service
