The Bodrum Edition

Bodrum Edition announces new spiritual retreat

ISTANBUL, September 30, 2020

The Bodrum Edition launched by Ian Schrager in partnership with Marriott International, introduces a spiritual week-long retreat, Zen at the Edition, with some of the most sought-after practitioners and gurus in Turkey and beyond.

Focusing on alleviating some of the adverse effects that lockdown has caused for many, hotel residents and day guests are taken on a transformational path to overall well-being with yoga workshops, pranayama (breathing exercises), silent meditation, mandala workshops focusing on spiritual discourse and more.

Running from October 12 to 18, Zen at the Edition aims to optimise personal practice and promote positive lifestyle changes, going beyond the physical performance of poses to emphasise the importance of breathing, meditation and healthy eating.

With flight times just a little over three hours from London and October temperatures set to average in the late-20’s, this Aegean utopia is the ideal escape for a late-summer wellness getaway.

Zen at the Edition highlights include:

*Mandala Workshops: Designed to re-educate the body and mind in order to achieve optimum physical, mental and spiritual health, the Mandala Workshops offer an ancient approach to health and wellbeing. Healing wisdom therapies and spiritual traditions are employed as a guidance tool to establish a sacred space as an aid to meditation and trance induction;

*Yoga: A yoga practice for all levels, this dynamic flowing Yoga class links postures to create heat in the body and develop stamina, strength and flexibility, integrated with breathwork, chanting, meditation and relaxation to promote a deep sense of wellbeing and serenity;

*Sound Healing: An ancient practice, one which is used to guide people into a state of deep relaxation and peace. Various musical instruments, including gongs, crystal bowls, conches and tibetan bowls are played to put the mind into alpha and then theta brainwave rhythm, enabling the mind to expand consciousness and go into a dream like state.
This deeply meditative place enables healing on not only an emotional level, but also cellular, with the sound vibrations and the frequencies bathing every cell of the body to give a ‘sonic massage’. Participants end the session relaxed, rejuvenated and sometimes having a deeply transformative experience; and

*Flower Essences Workshop: In this one-hour session, guests will explore the benefits of alternative healing methods, discovering the magic of flower essences, and designing their own Aura Spray to help manage everyday energy.

As guest’s consider their upcoming travel plans, the hotel wants to make the experience as worry-free as possible and are doing everything they can to provide a safe, seamless and ultimately enjoyable experience at the hotel.

The Bodrum Edition continues to take precautionary measures to ensure guests’ wellbeing and for the hotel’s employees. The hotel has heightened their already stringent practices around food handling, sanitisation, disinfection and cleaning, plus specific measures based on the guidance of local health authorities and the current situation in Turkey. -- Tradearabia News Service
