Saudi Arabia allows expats from Jakarta to return home

RIYADH, May 17, 2020

Saudi Arabia's Passports Directorate has completed the travel procedures for a flight departing to Jakarta, Indonesia, from King Khalid International Airport, carrying 91 passengers on board, as part of the Awdah (Return) initiative, said a report.
 
Awdah Initiative enables expatriates holding exit and re-entry visa, final exit and visas of various kinds to return to their countries by air travel after their countries confirm their agreement to receive them, said a report in Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
 
The initiative can be used by accessing Awdah icon on Absher Platform. It is not necessary to have an account on Absher platform to access this service in order to facilitate for expatriates of all nationalities to benefit from the initiative.
 
The total number of applications registered in the initiative reached 149,671 applications April 22 to May 16, the report said.
