Waldorf Astoria RAK names new F&B director

Hilton Hotels has appointed Miguel Duarte Silva as its new F&B director at Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah.

Beginning his career at the young age of 18 years old as a restaurant owner in Portugal, he succeeded to own four restaurants by the age of 23. At the age of 28, he moved on to working with resorts and hotels as a food and beverage (F&B) manager for three years, before moving to the Arora Group and Legoland Hotel in the UK. After gaining substantial experience in family entertainment and day-to-day operations in the F&B sector, he began a new challenge in the UAE.

Since arriving in Dubai in 2015, Duarte Silva has worked as operations manager for Grosvenor House where he pioneered many successful offers at Toro Toro that resulted in winning multiple awards, managed the teams at Belgian Beer Café, Cargo, Maison Mathis and Le Petit Belge. Throughout his career, Duarte Silva has managed to develop exceptional offers that resulted in infectious atmospheres and welcomed new life into the restaurants.

In his new role as F&B director, Duarte Silva will lead the team at the award-winning hotel that houses over 10 restaurants. Including Lexington Grill, UMI, Marjan and many more, each restaurant offers a different experience and sensational menu.

Duarte Silva’s outstanding F&B experience and wealth of knowledge will be a true asset to the hotel.
