Goco wins Saudi wellness resort consultancy contract

RIYADH, December 10, 2019

Goco Hospitality, a leading operator of wellness properties based in Bangkok, Thailand, said it has been signed up as wellness core consultants for Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Amaala resort project along with its sister company Horwath HTL Health & Wellness.

The 'uber-luxury' wellness tourism destination, Amaala is spread over a 3,800 sq km area along the Red Sea on the northwest coast of Saudi Arabia.

Part of the Kingdom’s Saudi Vision 2030 programme, Amaala is a top-tier tourism giga project set to curate transformative, personal journeys inspired by arts and cultures, sports and wellness and the purity of the Red Sea.

A major player in the wellness sector, Horwath HTL had developed multiple financial analyses and lease- and non-lease-backed residential rental scenarios (branded and non-branded) that provided vital information for the wellness core concept, created by Goco Hospitality.

As the wellness core specialist consultant, Goco Hospitality has also been assisting Amaala by offering wellness guidance for the master planning stage, as well as technical services and design recommendations.

The duo will conduct a strategic advisory for the luxury mixed-use development project dedicated to wellness and sustainable operating and building practices.

Under this agreement, Founder and CEO of Goco Hospitality and Managing Director of Horwath HTL Health & Wellness Ingo Schweder, alongside leading experts, will provide hospitality development and industry expertise to Amaala CEO Nicholas Naples.

Schweder said: "It is a great honour to be appointed as a wellness advisor for the Amaala project. Working with Naples and the Amaala team is not only exciting but also eye-opening as I learn from the world’s best industry experts."

"I am proud to be a part of this project, and I hope that our focused input will help drive a concept of wellness that can be found across Amaala, a project that I believe will set a new benchmark for the luxury wellness hospitality industry," he stated.

According to him, Triple Bay is the wellness core of Amaala and is set to become one of the most complex health and wellness destinations in the world, featuring the most advanced wellness, medical and surgical facilities.

The wellness core will include an integrative holistic wellness resort, medical wellness resort, a wellness village and a fully functioning wellness research institute, he stated.

The Thai hospitality group said the Wellness Research Institute, being planned at the Saudi resort destination, will serve as an on-site centre for wellness scholarship, grounded in Arabian cultural knowledge and science.

New scientific collaborations will be built and new evidence will support and shed light on historic cultural traditions that will offer unique insight into ways of combatting lifestyle disease and promoting wellness across the Amaala project and the world, it stated.

The Wellness Village will act as a key component, offering guests from across Amaala the chance to experience sustainable wellness through world-class cuisine, events and retail, as well as the most innovative beauty, holistic and medical wellness offerings.

The Wellness Research Institute will offer a platform for science-based wellness research and educational offerings that are deeply grounded in health and wellbeing, exploring the knowledge of local wellness traditions and cultures, said the statement from Goco Hospitality.

In addition to the wellness core, Amaala will feature a range of active sport offerings and include state-of-the-art equestrian facilities, polo, diving, yachting, golf, falconry, camel racing and more.

Other areas of Amaala which include the Island and the Coastal Development, will be home to world-class resorts, arts and culture programming, bespoke retail, dining, as well as a contemporary art museum and marine institute, stated the Thai group.

Amaala will also host ongoing events with internationally-acclaimed artists and cultural entities, alongside international sailing and yachting regattas, polo tournaments and auctions, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
