Mazagan Beach and Golf Resort

Morocco ranks 66 in latest Tourism Competitiveness index

AL JADIDA, November 22, 2019

In the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2019 released by the World Economic Forum (WEF), Morocco has landed 66th in the international ranking - proving once again the global edge and competitiveness of the country’s travel and tourism industry.

Morocco, as per the WEF report, was also cited for significant improvements in its Business Environment and Air Transport Infrastructure.

According to Sergio Pereira, general manager of Mazagan Beach and Golf Resort, one of the most exciting holiday destinations in Morocco and the North Africa region, Morocco’s inclusion in the global report comes as no surprise as the Kingdom continues to attract more visitors each year.

Its rich cultural background, natural beauty, renowned hospitality, fun adventures, and exceptional climate are some of its famous features that continue to entice tourists from around the world. As per the latest figures released by Morocco’s Tourism Observatory, Morocco welcomed almost 7.544 million visitors by the end of July 2019, up 8.2 per cent from the same period last year.

Pereira said: “The North African state is gaining ground in its bid to become one of the world’s preferred tourist destinations. Since tourism is a key economic pillar, the latest WEF report is a positive development. As a leader in the local hospitality sector, Mazagan will continue to do its best to help promote the country’s beauty on the global stage and contribute to the Kingdom’s growth and development. We are confident that Morocco will further improve its ranking in the coming period amidst the intensified government tourism campaigns.”

According to reports, the number of tourists from Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK was among the highest during the covered period. Morocco also attracts several visitors from the GCC states, considering several direct flights that are available to Morocco from the region, making it more accessible to GCC families who are looking to experience the best of what the kingdom has to offer.

“At Mazagan, we consider GCC as a significant market. As such, we regularly offer special packages that cater to the needs and expectations of the tourists coming from the Gulf states. We are confident that we will continue to witness an increase in the number of GCC tourists staying at our resort given our diverse activities, world-class services, and top-notch facilities designed to provide them with an enhanced experience,” Pereira said.

Located 20 minutes from El Jadida on the stunning Moroccan coastline, Mazagan is the go-to holiday destination for adventurous spirits, sun lovers, sports enthusiasts, and food fanatics.

Considered one of the best hotels in Morocco, Mazagan provides top service to ensure a memorable stay to all its guests. Famous for its architectural design and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, the resort has 500 suites and rooms.

Its other facilities are restaurants and bars, a world-class spa, casino and night-club, and par-72, 18-hole golf course designed for players of all proficiencies, to name a few. Its array of sports activities includes archery, bike, and ping-pong. It also offers beach activities and local excursions for the entire family to enjoy. - TradeArabia News Service
