Souk Okaz showcases heritage and art

TAIF, August 18, 2019

Souk Okaz, part of the annual Taif Season currently underway in Taif, Saudi Arabia, has launched an art and music scene, with different stations offering visitors a visual and audio experience.

A stage performance features teams from different countries participating in Souk Okaz, each representing their country’s art and culture.

At another station, wood carvings, pottery and illustrated wood paintings reflect the civilisation of the kingdom’s cities, with expressive phrases, images, photographs, poems, songs and national paintings.

At a third station, visitors can experience painting, writing, and Arabic calligraphy on paintings and wood, as well as art that combines calligraphy, printing and graffiti with shapes and phrases presented on a dedicated wall area. Visitors are also presented with an array of musical instruments, such as ouds, flutes, mahzars, and others, allowing them to experiment playing them. - TradeArabia News Service
