The four pilots are welcomed by Gulf Air senior officials

Four Bahraini pilots join Gulf Air

MANAMA, December 5, 2018

Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, recently welcomed four Bahraini pilots who joined the airline from other airlines in neighbouring countries.

The return of those aviation professionals signals Gulf Air’s efforts to boost nationalisation in its flight operations division, the airline said.

First officers Ali Ahmed, Falah Radhi, Arwa Janahi and Salman Shaikh were welcomed by Gulf Air’s executive management who expressed their good wishes to the group.

At a ceremony held at Gulf Air’s Muharraq headquarters, Captain Waleed Abdulhameed Al Alawi, Gulf Air deputy chief executive officer, commented: “We are happy to welcome the new batch of Bahraini pilots into Gulf Air. It is our priority to give Bahraini aviation professionals the chance to return home and join the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Gulf Air is dedicated to increase Bahrainisation in various divisions of the airline including flight operations. We are proud to have them here and look forward to their contributions in bringing Gulf Air closer to achieving its goals.”

With over 65 per cent of the airline’s pilots being Bahraini, Gulf Air leads the way amongst its regional competitors in terms of nationalisation, while still maintaining a multinational workforce that reflects the airline’s position as a global carrier. Through cooperation with local organisations, Gulf Air is in the process to hire more Bahraini pilots to join its workforce and represent the airline to the world, Gulf Air said. – TradeArabia News Service
