New Zayed-Gandhi museum to open in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, June 29, 2018

A new joint UAE-India exhibition celebrating the late visionary leaders Sheikh Zayed and Mahatma Gandhi is set to open in Abu Dhabi, a report said.

The initiative, announced by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Sushma Swaraj, India's External Affairs Minister, will allow people to gain insight into the lives and legacies of exceptional leaders and commemorates the 100th birth anniversary of Sheikh Zayed and the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, said a report in WAM.

The Zayed-Gandhi Digital Museum will showcase rare photos, videos and objects representing the life works and philosophies of both renowned leaders using cutting-edge technologies.

The new concept aligns with the 'Year of Zayed' programmes and also reaffirms the historical ties and shared values of peace, tolerance and sustainability between the UAE and India, it said.
