MANAMA, March 23, 2018

The renovated Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa in Bahrain was inaugurated yesterday by Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA).

National Hotels Company chairman Faisal Al Zayani and CEO Abdulrahman Morshed and the hotel’s general manager Kosta Kourotsidis were present on the occasion.

The renovation included 246 guest rooms, hotel lobby and the main restaurant. New unique designs have also been added to the new café, giving it a contemporary look and feel.

The total cost of the project was BD7.4 million ($19.6 million) and was part of the National Hotels Company expansion plans to enhance overall customer experience, in line with the tourism boom and the growing market demand.

The renovation of the hotel included the modernisation of various facilities, including the lobby, reception area, the hotel’s rooms and suites and its restaurants, to meet the changing conditions of the market.

“We are delighted to witness the unveiling of the renovated hotel and the improvement in the quality of services offered for guests, coinciding with the various festival and events that are being held in the kingdom. Developing the tourism facilities and services will further enhance the Kingdom’s tourism infrastructure, which is considered one of the main pillars under BTEA’s strategy to further strengthen the tourism sector,” said Shaikh Khaled.
