Passenger plane crashes near Kathmandu airport; kills 49

KATHMANDU, March 12, 2018

A plane carrying 71 people, including four crew members, crashed near Kathmandu airport just as it was about to land, killing 49 people, said a report.

According to a report in BBC, the plane veered off the runway while landing at Kathmandu airport, causing a blaze.

Rescuers pulled bodies from the charred wreckage of the plane, operated by Bangladeshi airline US-Bangla, after a raging fire was put out, the report said.

The plane, which was flying from the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka, was a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 turboprop
