Marmoush takes on new role at Sabre

Sabre appoints new air commerce director for EMEA

MANAMA, December 4, 2017

Sabre Corporation, a global technology provider to the travel and tourism industry, has appointed Ibrahim Marmoush as air commerce director, EMEA.

Marmoush will lead the air commerce business in EMEA, a key growth area for Sabre. He is tasked with growing the company’s GDS customer base across the region, with a special focus on Middle Eastern carriers and maintaining successful, trusted partnerships with existing airline customers.

Through his 20-year career in commercial and technical positions within the industry, Marmoush has developed an intricate understanding of intersection between travel and technology. He has held positions at Sabre for more than 10 years, most recently as a senior project manager for the Middle East.  Before this, he worked for British Airways and other global distribution systems (GDSs) in Egypt and the UAE. Marmoush holds an MBA in Marketing and E-Commerce.

“Ibrahim’s extensive understanding of the airline industry’s many complex challenges will be an invaluable asset in his new role,” said Alessandro Ciancimino, vice president Air Commerce, Sabre. “Airlines are facing multiple market pressures and their retailing and distribution needs are evolving as a result. As we further develop and enhance our systems, Ibrahim’s expertise will help us meet those needs, providing airlines with the right technology to support their growth.”

Sabre provides technology and content from at least 420 airlines and 750,000 hotel properties to more than 425,000 travel agents worldwide. Its technology is used by 225 airlines, including most of the world’s largest carriers. - TradeArabia News Service
