Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) introduced its innovative 'Hospitality Sustainability Board Game' to all hotels under the Jumeirah Group to further enhance efforts to position Dubai as the world’s leading sustainable tourism destination.

The Board Game is an important awareness tool of the Dubai Sustainable Tourism (DST) initiative that aims to support and encourage hotels in the emirate to focus more on eco-friendly practices and efficiently manage their resources.

A total of 38 professionals from hotels under the Jumeirah Group and students of Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management participated in the Board Game event held on October 4. More than 400 participants from over 150 establishments in Dubai have played the fun and interactive Board Game so far during events and roadshows organised by Dubai Tourism.

The latest Board Game was hosted by Peter Stubbs, director of Compliance and HSE, Group and Corporate, Jumeirah Group while Solaiman Al Rifai, senior project manager at the Tourism Development and Investments department of Dubai Tourism made a presentation on DST and explained the mechanics of the game.

The Board Game was developed jointly with Emirates Wildlife Society-WWF, one of four key partners of DST initiative. The other three leading sustainability entities that are supporting DST are Etihad ESCO, Dubai Carbon and Emirates Environmental Group. - TradeArabia News Service
