Autumn escape on the French Riviera

SAINT-JEAN CAP FERRAT, October 3, 2017

Mild and sunny autumn weather makes the French Riviera one of the best destinations for a post-summer escape.

Ideally located between Nice and Monaco, at the tip of Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat, Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel offers a comfortable and luxury background to enjoy the scenic French Riviera coastline and nearby Provençal perched villages.

The months of October and November offer plenty of opportunities to explore the region, from a cultural visit to the renowned Maeght Fondation in Saint-Paul de Vence to a tour of the historical perfume museum in Grasse, a shopping day in Cannes or a game on the synthetic clay tennis courts of the hotel. Swimming is also a must in the hotel’s iconic heated infinity pool at the Club Dauphin, to not miss any of the spectacular panoramas on the Mediterranean.

A morning run following the coastal pathway is the best way to exercise and breath in the essence of the Peninsula while the surrounding fishermen villages of Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat, Beaulieu sur Mer and Villefranche sur Mer are only a short bike ride away, passing through the typical umbrella pines.

To indulge into pure relaxation, guests may choose a cocooning moment at Le Spa, from a range of beauty facials and body treatments by the upscale brands Dr Burgener, Biologique Recherche and Sodashi, or enjoy the counter-current indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, hamam or sauna.

The hotel offers many options to taste the local cuisine, under the leadership of Michelin-starred Chef Yoric Tièche, on the heated terrace facing the gardens or indoors, in the relaxed and elegant atmosphere of La Veranda. Reminiscent of a chic French Riviera bistro, and combining flavours from Italy and the Mediterranean Sea, the restaurant offers seasonal dishes using the best local ingredients, including zucchini, local goat cheese and golden raisins, braised lamb shoulder, roasted figs and garnished semolina, roasted fig with Garrigue honey and vanilla ice cream

At tea time, pastry chef Gaëtan Fiard is revisiting the traditional Afternoon Tea, a ritual made fashionable by Coco Chanel and Jean Cocteau back in the 1900s. Guests can savour a selection of finger sandwiches and local pastries to be combined with a delicious cream puffs bar, served in the cosy and elegant Eiffel Rotunda.

To fully enjoy the autumn douceur de vivre on the French Riviera, the hotel offers Autumn Escape – Third Night Free. This offer must be booked 15 days prior to arrival, and starts from €320 ($376) per night in a Superior Pinewood Room.
