UAE signs visa deal with three countries

NEW YORK, September 22, 2017

The UAE has signed MoUs with Vanuatu, Saint Lucia and El Salvador to exempt UAE nationals and citizens from these countries from obtaining pre-entry visas for travel to the respective countries.

The MoU with Vanuatu was signed by Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the UAE, and Bruno Leingkone, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Vanuatu, on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in New York, a Wam news agency report said.

The MoU shall enter into force 30 days after the date of its formal signature.

Dr Al-Zeyoudi also signed the MoU with Saint Lucia's Prime minister, Allen Chastanet, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

The MoU with El Salvador was signed by Dr Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State, and Hugo Martinez Bonilla, Foreign Minister of El Salvador.

The agreement will take effect from the date of completion of constitutional procedures in both countries.
