Saudi Arabia to send plane to Doha for Qatar pilgrims

JEDDAH, August 17, 2017

Saudi Arabia's King Salman has ordered the dispatch of a private aircraft belonging to Saudi Arabian Airlines to Doha airport to fly all Qatari Haj pilgrims at his expense to Jeddah and host them as his guests.

A statement emphsised that the pilgrims must be Qatari citizens, a Saudi Press Agency report said.

This follows talks between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Jassem Al Thani at the Peace Palace in Jeddah.

The King also directed that all Qatari pilgrims be transported from King Fahad International Airport in Dammam and Al-Ahsa International Airport as his guests within the Program of the Guests of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for Haj and Umrah.

He has also approved the entry of Qatari pilgrims to the kingdom through the Salwa border crossing to perform Haj, a Saudi Press Agency report said.

All Qatari nationals who wish to enter for Haj will be allowed to enter without electronic permits following the mediation of Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Jassem Al Thani, said the SPA report.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah stressed on the brotherly relations between Saudi Arabia and Qatar and said they are rooted in history.

Prince Mohammed thanked Sheikh Abdullah for his brotherly feelings, stressing the depth of historical relations between the Saudi people and the Qatari people and between the leadership in Saudi Arabia and the royal family in Qatar, the report added.
