New GM for Shangri-La, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, July 2, 2017

Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi has appointed Ulf Bremer, a seasoned hotelier with over two decades’ work experience, as the new general manager.

Prior to this, he was the general manager at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong.

A German national, Bremer embarked on his professional hospitality career in Switzerland in 1985. He then spent over 20 years holding various positions at a number of international luxury hotel groups. As a truly international hotel veteran, he has previously worked in major cities around the world in Japan, Germany, England, Saudi Arabia, China, South East Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

No stranger to Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Bremer has worked in several Shangri-La properties, including Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai; Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei; Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa, Kota Kinabalu; Kerry Hotel, Beijing; Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, and Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong.

With his extensive experience and expertise, Bremer will oversee more than 600 employees and the management of the hotel’s the hotel’s 213 luxurious guestrooms and suites, 161 serviced apartments and six four-bedroom villas, in addition to the seven food and beverage outlets and 10 banquet and conference spaces.
Without a doubt, he will lead the property to greater heights in terms of hotel performance, service standards, enhancing value for customers, owners and business partners, as well as to become the ultimate choice for customers.

Bremer has been part of the Shangri-La family since 2000, having worked at Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai; Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei; Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa, Kota Kinabalu; Kerry Hotel, Beijing; Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, and Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong.
