Hyatt Abu Dhabi wins key ISO certification

ABU DHABI, January 21, 2017

Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi, the first independently-branded Hyatt hotel in the South West Asia region, said it has won ISO 22000:2005 certification for food safety management systems.

The five-star hotel was assessed and registered by Quality Registrar Systems and found compliant with the ISO standards outlined for food safety management systems where an organization in the food chain needs to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe at the time of human consumption.

The scope of certification covered hotel accommodation, food production, food service and other relevant services like laundry, housekeeping, engineering, garbage disposal, spa and transportation services.

Commenting on the feat, Sirajudheen Sidheek, the hygiene manager of Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi said: "Quality is a key differentiator for Hyatt and built in our standards, policies and operational procedures. The ISO 22000:2005 is the result of an enormous amount of work from our property leaders and an intensive effort from the entire staff to make this ongoing initiative work."

"We are greatly proud of this success, not only because it shows our commitment to good practice measures and ensure the highest degree of consumer safety, but also because it builds on the many existing achievements of Abu Dhabi’s hospitality industry," noted Sidheek.

ISO 22000 is a standard in accordance with the worldwide valid ISO standard which came into force on September 30 and as a worldwide-valid management system for food safety is aimed at minimising the flood of standards.

"Now we can also add Quality Excellence to our accomplishments," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
