AccorHotels ME scoops coveted World Travel Awards

DUBAI, October 5, 2016

AccorHotels, the world's leading hotel operator, has been named the Middle East’s Leading Hotel Group, the UAE’s Leading Hotel Group and Saudi Arabia’s Leading Hotel Group at the World Travel Awards Middle East Gala Ceremony.

The announcement was made on Thursday in Dubai in the presence of a host of leading figures in the tourism and hospitality industries.

Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards acknowledge and celebrate excellence across key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality fields. This year marks the 23rd anniversary of the annual fixture, which is now recognised amongst the most prestigious in the global hospitality and tourism industries.

Upon receiving the accolade, Olivier Granet, managing director and chief operating officer, AccorHotels Middle East said: “We are delighted to have been recognised as the Middle East’s leading hotel operator. We believe these awards are a testament to the work we have put in as a team to ensure that our properties deliver excellent service to our guests across the full spectrum of our flagship brands, from luxury and upscale to midscale and economy.”

AccorHotels currently operates 87 hotels in the Middle East, encompassing over 26,000 rooms across the luxury to economy segments. The Group’s regional network also includes 74 hotels under development, bringing over 22,500 additional rooms to the Middle East. The Group has a strong presence in Saudi Arabia, with a network of 60 hotels in operation and under development representing over 20,000 rooms.
