Oman's Ministry of Tourism is organising a four-city roadshow in India from September 19 to 26 with the aim to further promote the sultanate as a key tourist destination for Indian travellers.

This year the roadshow will be held in Hyderabad, Calcutta, Ahmedabad and Pune, and will give local partners in Oman an opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with their counterparts in each of these cities to discuss business prospects.  

With an increase of 16.7 per cent in the number of tourists coming into Oman in 2015, India is a crucial market for Oman and the annual roadshow is one of the most important marketing programmes planned this year for the target market by the Ministry. The roadshows will look to highlight Oman as a luxury tourist destination, with a focus on destination weddings and Mice.

This year there will be 15 participants from Oman, accompanying the Ministry of Tourism representatives, including MOT's key partners Oman Air & the Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran). The remaining participants include tour operators like Elite Travel & Tourism, Bahwan Travels, Tour Oman, Magic Arabia, Zahara Tours and Arabian Experience; hotels like Al Bustan Palace – a Ritz Carlton Hotel, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, Al Nahda Resort & Spa, Six Senses Zighy Bay Resort & Spa, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar & Anantara Salalah, Alila Jabal Akhdar and Grand Hyatt,.

Speaking about the roadshow, Asma Al Hajry, deputy director general International Tourism Promotions of the Ministry of Tourism, said: “The roadshow is an excellent opportunity to let tourism partners in India get acquainted with the unique, world-class tourism experiences that the Sultanate has to offer and encourage more visitors to come to our country to explore Oman. Such forums also allow for an exchange of ideas and suggestions, and help us in catering to the specific needs of tourists from the market.” - TradeArabia News Service
