Indigo Dubai flight diverted to Mumbai after passenger ruckus

MUMBAI, July 28, 2016

An Indigo flight enroute to Dubai from Kozhikode made an emergency landing in Mumbai Thursday morning after a passenger's "unruly behaviour", said a report.

According to a report in The Indian Express, a passenger seated in 5D started misbehaving with crew. He  jumped on the forward cart, whcih is used for food and onboard merchandise) and sat on it. He later obliged to the cabin crew's request to step off the cart. After that, the passenger suddenly got violent and started physically abusing the co-passenger.

As a precautionary measure, the Captain immediately informed Air Traffic control (ATC) of the situation and diverted the flight to Mumbai.

The passenger was handed over to the airport police around 9.15 am and the flight departed about an hour later, airport sources said.
