Gloria Hotel and Yassat Gloria Hotel and Apartments’ will launch an environmentally friendly promotional package called ‘3G: Go Green with Gloria’ on the opening day of International Travel Berlin (ITB) 2016 in Germany this month.

Guests booking the green two-night stay at Gloria Hotel or Yassat Gloria Hotel and Apartments will have a tree planted in their name, as well as receive a one-day NOL card allowing travel on Dubai’s Metro, trams and buses. Additionally, with each booking the hotel will make an Dh10 donation to a carbon offset programme.

The package includes rates for two nights’ stay with breakfast, a themed dinner in the hotel’s La Terrasse Restaurant or The Avenue Restaurant, as well as 25 per cent discount on food and beverage and laundry items.

We are more than happy to announce a new package to widen our commercial commitment to the environment, society and culture, quality, and health and safety. It’s our intention to improve on this performance and achieve greater sustainability and environmental responsibility in the years ahead.”

By implementing energy saving processes, segregating recycling materials and incorporating waste reduction procedures within the hotels’ daily operations, the two properties made savings of more than 8,580 megawatt hours (MWh) and 54,000 cubic metres (m3) of water; the water savings equivalent to 22 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Additionally carbon emissions were reduced by 4,400 tonnes, which is the same as flying to London and back four times.

“With the ‘3G: Go Green with Gloria’ package guests will not only be supporting our green initiatives, but with their very own tree planting will also make Dubai more green visually. We will also be periodically sharing the growth of their tree with guests through social media,” added Farid
