InterContinental Hotels Group, Africa has announced the promotion of Amr El Backly to the position of area director of finance and business support.

Backly joined InterContinental Hotels Group in 2012 as the director of finance and business support, Egypt. Amassing more than 28 years of experience, he has combined his deep strategic business acumen and financial background to produce significant bottom line results. He has worked with some of the world’s largest hotels in Africa and the Middle East, leading finance transformation initiatives and specialising in finance strategy and operations within financial services and hospitality industry.
