Elaf Group plans budget hotels in India

JEDDAH, February 7, 2016

Saudi-based Elaf Group has announced plans to expand its services in India, targeting the Indian tourism market and the Indian Haj and Umrah pilgrimage sector, said a report.

The announcement was recently made at a press conference in Jeddah on the sidelines of the Indian food festival, according to a report in Saudi Gazette.

Speaking at the event, Abdullah H Bakri, vice president of Elaf Hotels Company, said that the company has come across a couple of opportunities to carry out projects for budget hotels in India as part of tie ups in the vital tourism sector with Indian partners.

Furthermore, he said that the group sees India as a strong partner. “The relationship between the two great nations has been ever growing in terms of business relations, manpower services, cultural activities, tourism and pilgrimage etc.," he said.

Mohammed M.S. Binmahfouz, vice president of Elaf Travel and Tourism Company, said the company is looking to tie up with big Indian companies which have a wide network in order to reach out to more Umrah pilgrims.
