Westin opens first hotel in Doha

DOHA, February 7, 2016

Hospitality giant Starwood Hotels and Resorts is expanding the presence of its Westin brand in the Middle East with the opening of its first hotel in Doha, Qatar, said a report.

Starwood has opened the hotel with Ghanem Al Thani Holdings, further expanding the brand’s portfolio to four properties across the Middle East, said a report in Hospitlaity Biz India.

The new property is located on Salwa Road, minutes away from Doha’s central business district, museums and unique cultural venues as well as Hamad International Airport, which is a 20 minute drive from the hotel.

The new property boasts 365 contemporary spacious rooms, suites and villas including a 347-sq-m presidential suite. All rooms feature the Westin Heavenly Bed as well as Westin’s signature bath amenities, the report said.

The hotel also features the Heavenly Spa and Westin Workout, the fitness centre.

In line with the brand’s commitment to wellness, The Westin Doha will offer travelers and local residents a revitalizing experience, an escape from the hustle and bustle in the heart of downtown Doha,” said Guido de Wilde, Senior Vice President, Regional Director, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Middle East.

Home to the largest pillar-less ballroom in Doha, the function space measures over 6,000 sq m and offers Westin’s trademark instinctive service and attention to detail, it said.
