Saudia does not offer women flight attendant jobs, says official

JEDDAH, December 30, 2015

A spokesperson for Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia), the national carrier of the kingdom, confirmed that the airline has never offered jobs to Saudi women as flight attendants aboard its flight, said a report.

Answering queries about Saudi women’s employment as part of the airline’s team, Abdulrahman Al-Fahad, assistant general manager for public relations, said that women are permitted to work in offices which are allocated for women only, noting that Saudi women have proven their dedication and achievements across many fields, as well as their top quality performances, the Arab news reported.

However, he did not reveal if the airline might allow women to work as flight attendants or in direct booking offices in the future.

Saudia was the first to be founded in the Arabian Peninsula in 1945 with a DC-3 aircraft, and has since moved forward toward excellence, high quality efficiency, safety and customer service.
