KLM Dreamliner touches down in Bahrain

MANAMA, November 30, 2015

KLM’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner arrived in Bahrain International Airport, Bahrain, last week (November 23rd) after its inaugural flight from Amsterdam to Abu Dhabi.

The new, state-of-the-art airliner will operate between Bahrain International Airport and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport with seven flights per week.

The KLM daily flight arrives in Bahrain via Abu Dhabi from Amsterdam, connecting the two Gulf capitals and linking them both into the KLM global network via Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

The Dreamliner offers high levels of comfort and a new in-flight experience for passengers, said a statement.

In Business Class, passengers will enjoy 2.07 m long full flat seats, full privacy and direct access to the aisle. Passengers travelling in economy class will appreciate the new seats, which offer 40 per cent more recline. All passengers have access to a power socket for recharging mobile devices, larger cabin windows, state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system, and onboard Wi-Fi.

Speaking about the new KLM Dreamliner service, Gilles Roche, general manager for Air France KLM Gulf, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Pakistan, said: “We are delighted to introduce the KLM Dreamliner to the Abu Dhabi and Bahrain routes and we are very confident that our valuable customers will appreciate this new level of experience, on key routes for the airline. The KLM Dreamliner sets new levels of onboard experience for passengers with greater comfort in every aspect, more entertainment, and fine dining options in a contemporary cabin– all in one incredible aircraft.”

Mohamed Khalil, chief commercial officer at Bahrain Airport Company, said: “It is indeed a great pleasure to witness the arrival of the latest Boeing 787-9 passenger aircraft at Bahrain International Airport.
