His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King, today inaugurated the ArtBahrain Exhibition in Bahrain Bay, which runs till October 16, said a report.

Housed in a 50-m diameter grand marquee opposite the newly-opened Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, ArtBahrain expects to be a meeting place for artists, gallerists, cognoscenti and art lovers from around the world to share space, ideas and inspiration with local artists, the Bahrain News Agency reported

The fair will see the likes of Sacha Jafri, who was the youngest living artist to have had a 10-year Museum Retrospective, showcasing his works.

At Art Bahrain, Jafri will launch his 18-year Retrospective World Tour, which will showcase 48 works of art. The retrospective tour will include the best four paintings from each of Jafri’s 12 collections from 1996 to 2014, which have been handpicked and carefully curated by the artist, for display at Art Bahrain.

The fair will also see the works of leading Bahraini artists Jamal Abdul Rahim, Lulwa Al Khalifa and Marwa Bin Rashid, amongst others as well as a number of galleries including UK-based Albemarle Gallery, Al Riwaq, from Bahrain, the Arab Fine Arts Hall in Saudi Arabia, Marsam Mattar (Dubai Art Gallery) and the Marsa Gallery from Tunisia.

ArtBahrain will be open to art lovers from October 13 to 16 between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm, and will exhibit various forms of art including classic painting "Acrylic" colours, sculpture and digital photography, among others.
