Sharjah International Airport ... boosting security levels.

Nedaa wins Sharjah airport infrastructure deal

SHARJAH, July 14, 2015

Sharjah International Airport has awarded a major contract to leading wireless communications firm Nedaa for installation of base transmission station and supply of 400 Tetra-based wireless communication devices.

A professional communication corporation, Nedaa said it has emerged as a reliable choice in the field of wireless communication supply in Dubai and Northern Emirates.

As per the contract, the company will provide the airport with a key line of advanced digital wireless communications solutions which have been specifically customised to support its internal operations, said a statement from Nedaa.

These solutions will help improve the work of the airport management and enhance operation efficiently by improving communication potentials that are compatible with the best international standards and business requirements, it added.

Nedaa will also supply, install, operate and guarantee a Tetra-based Airbus base transmission station. It will further provide transmission network services and wireless communication devices, which include 400 Tetra radios to be used by the airport’s essential communications personnel.

The move is aimed at strengthening the airport’s security levels - preserving the confidentiality of information and communications, said a senior government official.

"We have signed this agreement with Nedaa as part of our continuous efforts to deliver the best services to passengers and companies operating in and users of the Sharjah International Airport," remarked Mohammed Al Zaghlawan, the general manager, Sharjah Aviation Services, a leading provider of aviation ground services within the UAE.

The implementation of the new solutions will have a positive impact on the quality of our operations by improving security and further preserving the confidentiality of information and communications.

"Our co-operation with Nedaa aims to get a more efficient level of used communications systems in managing passengers' operations, while taking advantage of Nedaa great potentials in the field of wireless communication," he added.

Industry analysts have hailed the agreement as both timely and very strategic as communications plays an essential role in ensuring the success of any airport’s day-to-day operations.

Mansoor Bu Osaiba, the deputy CEO at Nedaa, said: "This agreement aims at providing all means of technological support in the field of wireless communications and state-of-the-art communications technology of different national corporations, and goes in line with our main role in the development of communication sector infrastructure, with a view to create an advanced working environment for companies and corporations."

"We are confident that our agreement with Sharjah International Airport will have distinguished results in favor of all beneficiaries of airport facilities," stated Bu Osaiba.

"We also affirm our keenness to fully support the digital wireless communication solutions in use at Sharjah International Airport in order to contribute to raising the level of quality management services and operation of various facilities in this important edifice," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
