Aviareps to represent Japanese DMC in Mideast

DUBAI, June 14, 2015

Aviareps, a global airline and tourism representative, has been appointed by Unique Japan Tours as its sales representative in the Middle East.

The appointment was made as the destination management company (DMC) seeks to strengthen Japan’s awareness and positioning as a luxury and inspirational travel destination for travellers from the Middle East.

Middle Eastern travellers to Japan have been increasing in recent years due to a growing multi-faceted interest in the country’s traditional and modern cultures, technological culture, design and cuisine traditions.

Japan has long been regarded as a unique shopping paradise, however, owing to the recent strengthening of the US dollar against the Japanese yen, and the implementation of sales tax exemption to all items purchased by foreign tourists, Japan has become extremely affordable.

Darina Nakagawa, managing director of Unique Japan Tours asserts, “With an extensive network of tourism industry partners in Japan and a deep understanding of the Middle East market we see a great opportunity to make Japan more accessible for an increasing number of visitors from the GCC. We also expect demand for travel to Japan to continue increasing over the coming years as the country prepares to host the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games.” – TradeArabia News Service
