Tribute band Bon Jovie to headline the event’s premiere night

Taste of Dubai plates up a musical treat

DUBAI, February 25, 2015

Major food festival ‘Taste of Dubai’ makes a return to the UAE in March and will serve up more than just food-related treats this year.

Running from March 12 to 14 at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, the festival will feature a wealth of musical entertainment, attractions and interactive features.

Rocking to the sounds of Bon Jovi, the leading tribute band will headline the event’s premiere night. The event will also see ‘Alternative soul’ musician Adam Baluch, who has supported musical superstars such as Lionel Richie, bolster the line-up of bands, singers and DJs that will feature on the main stage over the three-day event.

Moreover, food fanatics looking to put their skills to the test can pick up tips and tricks from the world’s best chefs with a host of new features from headline sponsor, including: Electrolux Chef’s Theatre, Electrolux Chefs’ Secrets and Chefs’ Table.

“Preparations for our first headline sponsorship of Taste of Dubai are now in full swing, and we, along with our fabulous partner chefs', cannot wait to bring some great tasting food, as well as hints tips and techniques from the professional kitchen,” said Graham Bremer, Electrolux Head of Marketing MEA & Turkey.

Additionally, Taste of Dubai has announced their continued partnership with the International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA) Dubai, giving more than 50 of the nation’s most promising young chefs the opportunity to work with the world’s best in the cookery school and live chef’s theatre.

“We are delighted to welcome the ICCA Dubai back on board for Taste of Dubai,” said Chris Fountain, managing director of event organisers Turret Media. “We highly value the help of these incredibly talented students year on year, and in turn enjoy seeing them savour the opportunity to meet and learn from their own culinary heroes.”

The showpiece event will deliver over 100 dishes from the city’s favourite restaurants, as well as celebrity chefs including: Master of street food Andy Bates, Tim Anderson, Atul Kochhar, Jean-Christophe Novelli, Jose Pizarro, Dhruv Baker and Emirati baking sensation Bader Al Awadhi. All chefs will take part in live demonstrations and book signing sessions at the festival.

The festival will run from 4 am to 12pm on March 12; 12 pm to 12 am on March 13; and 12 pm to 11 pm on March 14. – TradeArabia News Service
