Oman Air, the national carrier of the country, has been named as Expo Milano’s Preferred Authorised Reseller for the sultanate.

The Omani carrier will sell tickets for Expo Milano 2015 to tour operators, travel agents, government offices, companies, schools, colleges and individual travellers.

Around 148 countries, including Oman, will take part and, in addition to the 20 million anticipated visitors, one billion people are expected to attend online.

Furthermore, Oman Air’s five-year experience of non-stop flying from Muscat to Milan will offer visitors the ideal way of travelling to the event. From January 1, the airline increased the number of flights it offers between the two cities from four per week to daily. In addition, Oman Air Holidays will soon be releasing details of attractive packages which include flights, accommodation and event tickets. These will be offered throughout the duration of the Expo, from May 1 to October 31.

Paul Gregorowitsch, the airline’s chief executive officer, said: “Oman Air is proud to be supporting Expo Milano 2015, thereby continuing our commitment to the Italian market that began in 2009 with the launch of our Muscat to Milan service.”

“The importance of Expo Milano 2015 cannot be overstated and it is an honour for Oman Air to be supporting visitors from the Sultanate at every step of the way,” he said.

Economy Class flights from Muscat to Milan are currently available from OMR286 ($743) per person. Business Class flights are currently available from OMR914 ($2,374) per person.

Expo Milano 2015 will follow the theme of ‘Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life’. The event will last for six months and is dedicated to the challenges of nutrition and sustainable development. It will provide a neutral global platform upon which all stakeholders can gather to share common goals and combine the best ideas and contributions to create a useful legacy for the future.
