Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, has signed an agreement with Intel Security for security solutions including system security, network security and security management solutions to be provided to the airline.

By implementing McAfee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) to protect the most valuable business data, the airline’s Information Security team can help avert potential risks related to data loss.

Gulf Air continuously reviews and assesses its cyber security measures as part of its commitment to protecting its IT systems both on the ground and on-board its fleet.

Commenting on the agreement, Maher Salman Al Musallam, Gulf Air acting chief executive officer, said: “Our information technology advances over the past few years have been recognised on a global and regional level and, in our drive to uphold the highest possible information security standards, which we believe will positively impact not only our valued passengers but also our workforce, Intel Security’s solutions are a perfect fit. I am delighted to see this relationship come to fruition and expect it will produce benefits across the board.”

The agreement will address Gulf Air’s Information Security requirements on multiple levels.  It will include Intel Security’s professional services which will assist Gulf Air in improving their understanding of security risks, and optimising its information technology security. Intel Security’s Complete Data Protection suite includes encryption to help Gulf Air safeguard data in transit and on rest, in addition to Email Security Solution which will help protect Gulf Air’s critical email services.

“We believe Intel Security’s solutions offer the best and most complete data protection available.  and that their professional services will greatly enhance the knowledge and expertise of Gulf Air’s IT staff,” said Hamed Diab, Intel Security’s regional director for the Middle East and North Africa. “We are confident that this agreement will bring significant benefits to Gulf Air such as accelerating time-to-protection while helping them reduce data security costs and risks.” – TradeArabia News Service
