Jazeera Airways ... increase in flown passengers.

Jazeera December passenger numbers up 10pc

KUWAIT, February 3, 2015

Kuwait-based Jazeera Airways has reported a 10 per cent increase in the total number of passengers flown by the airline during December 2014, compared to the same month previous year.

It said the airline was able to achieve an on-time performance of 95 per cent during the period.

Jazeera Airways issues its operational performance report on both a monthly and yearly basis and the report is based on official figures and statistics from Kuwait’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Jazeera Airways saw an 18 per cent increase in flown passengers from December 2013 on routes serving Istanbul, Beirut and Amman. The increase was driven by an increase in demand on the route serving Amman, and the introduction of winter flights to Istanbul this year. The airline saw a 7 per cent increase in flown passengers in November 2014, in comparison to the same month of the previous year.

Flown passengers also increased on routes serving Egypt, increasing by 19 per cent from December 2013 despite Jazeera Airways serving only five Egyptian cities during the month, compared to six cities in December 2013.

On routes serving the Gulf cities of Dubai, Bahrain, Jeddah and Riyadh, Jazeera Airways saw a 11 per cent increase in flown passengers, compared to December 2013. – TradeArabia News Service
