World Duty Free...new store location

World Duty Free opens at Dammam airport

DAMMAM, January 12, 2015

World Duty Free (WDF), UK’s leading travel retailer, recently opened shop at the King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

WDF at the airport will add great value to services for arriving, departing and transiting passengers as the facility differs from the local market in terms of brands and products, and their prices, Yusef Al-Dahri, director of KFIA, was quoted as saying by Arab News.

WDF is the first such shopping facility in the Eastern Province. The delay in opening the airport facility was based on procedures being different from those in the local market. The airport procedures had to be applied for international shoppers, the report stated.

“We have more new projects under construction at the airport and we look forward to develop the services in order to meet the expectations of passengers,” Al-Dahri said.

Ignacio Salcedo, head of international operations - Middle East and Asia, WDF, confirmed that the prices of products at the KFIA duty-free will be competitive — 20 per cent lower than in the local market.
