Oman Air starts Muscat-Jakarta service

MUSCAT, December 13, 2014

Oman Air has announced the launch of its debut flight to the Indonesian capital of Jakarta from its home base of Muscat.

The airline will operate four flights per week using the new A330 -300 fleet and will offer convenient connections at Muscat to exciting destinations throughout Oman Air’s rapidly-expanding network, said a statement from the national carrier.

The inaugural flight took off yesterday (December 12) from the Muscat International Airport.
The economy class return tickets have been priced at RO267 ($692) per person, with Business Class return starting from RO805 ($2,085).

The fleet features 24 new Business Class seats designed by BE Aerospace. Fitted in a 2-2-2 configuration, each comfortable and spacious 21-inch wide seat converts to a 77-inch long, fully flat bed.

Announcing the new service, Oman Air’s chief operating officer Abdulrahman Al Busaidy said: "We are delighted to now offer air travellers the opportunity to fly with Oman Air to Jakarta. Not only is this an exciting and vibrant city, but it also provides a centre from which to explore the cultural richness, natural beauty and geographical diversity of Indonesia."

"I am sure that the service will meet strong demand from both leisure and business travellers and we have already accepted a high level of bookings. In addition, the timing of the launch enables us to help reunite families and friends as they come together over the winter holiday period," he added.

"In addition to introducing thousands of travellers from around the globe to the countless attractions of both Jakarta and Muscat, we look forward to welcoming them aboard our superb A330 aircraft," said Al Busaidy.

"Here they will be able to relax, enjoy the flight and experience the very highest levels of comfort, space and onboard service. There really is no better way to fly than with Oman Air, the airline of First Choice," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
