Gulf Air launches Kuwait-Istanbul services

MANAMA, September 16, 2014

Gulf Air has launched twice weekly services between Kuwait and Istanbul in response to increased demand.

The direct flights will start from October 2, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The new service will depart Kuwait International Airport at 10.15 pm local time with return flights will leave Istanbul Ataturk Airport at 2.50 am local time.

The flights will be operated by an A320 aircraft in a two-class configuration featuring 16 Falcon Gold seats and 120 economy class seats.

“This affords our Kuwait-based passengers the opportunity to directly access one of our most popular destinations,” Gulf Air acting chief executive Maher Al Musallam said.

“A direct flight makes the journey easier and we expect this route to be very popular while paving the way for future positive enhancements to our network offering.

“Launching the new direct Kuwait-Istanbul route caters to travel demand and we want Gulf Air passengers to avail this route at competitive prices while we continue to offer convenient connections between Bahrain and Kuwait,” he added.

Gulf Air operates direct flights between Bahrain and Kuwait as well as Bahrain and Istanbul.

The airline has six daily flights to Kuwait and five flights every week to Istanbul. - TradeArabia News Service
