Morocco resort sees record GCC tourist flow

EL JADIDA (Morocco), September 13, 2014

Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, a major tourism attraction in Morocco, said it has registered the highest footfall of GCC visitors in its history during the first eight months.

Stephan Killinger, the president at Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, pointed out that the revenues from the GCC families far outstripped those from the Europeans.

"This is mainly due to the higher spending power of GCC families as well as the number of persons in each family," remarked Killinger.

"In addition, more air links between the two regions have contributed to a dramatic growth in the number of GCC tourists coming to Morocco," he added.

According to Killinger, the simplified visa formalities for Gulf nationals too have encouraged more people to visit this part of the world.

"Mazagan has developed a dedicated package for tourists coming from the Gulf and clinched partnerships with leading airlines to reward visitors with redemption points on every mile they travel to reach the resort," he added.

The revamped summer package, which ends on Sept 30th, includes one free night on a 4-night package and two free nights on a 5-night package, starting from $110 per person.

The package includes accommodation for two adults and two kids with a complimentary breakfast, free meals for kids, free access to 3 kids’ clubs (Baby Club, Kids Club and Club Rush), free access to Hammam steam room, Tennis, Fitness & biking, and complimentary airport shuttle service.

“Business tourism and sports tourism are also important for us at Mazagan. We are a preferred MICE destination of the region, with 7484 yards of golf course. These types of tourists command a significant share of the overall occupancy rates in Mazagan,” he added.

Spread over a 250-hectare site, Mazagan resort has 500 rooms that offer spectacular views of the ocean, lagoons and golf course, surrounded by 67 villas, landscaped gardens and a stunning swimming pool in the center.-TradeArabia News Service
