Trump buys top golf course from Dubai firm

London, May 3, 2014

American billionaire Donald Trump has announced that he had bought the famous links course of Turnberry in Scotland for an undisclosed sum from the Dubai-based Leisurecorp.

The course has hosted the British Open four times, most recently in 2009, and is likely to be considered for future majors.

Trump owns 16 golf resorts around the globe and is developing Trump Estates in Dubai, which includes over 100 luxury villas overlooking a golf course within the Akoya by Damac, an Emirates 24/7 eport said.

The Independent in London, meanwhile, reported that Trump paid Leisurecorp just over $63 million for the golf course.
