Four Seasons Riyadh expansion under way

Riyadh, November 29, 2011

Work on the expansion of Kingdom Holding Company’s Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh is  currently under way.

The 48th floor will be converted into two floors, 48th and 50th floors, with 44 premium category of guest rooms and suites, a check-in desk on the 48th floor, as well as the services of a dedicated concierge staff, a statement from the hotel said.

The expansion also includes a panoramic elevator, a 90 sq m executive lounge and a unique butler service. Furthermore, a 90 sq m ladies gym will be situated on the 50th floor for all in-house female guests, and the kingdom suite will be the ‘signature suite’ of the hotel situated on both floors (duplex) covering an area of 330 sq m.

Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company said that the development and expansion project of its local investments is in line with the company’s strategic plan.

The expansion followed the completion of an extensive renovation announced earlier this year. The renovation included the hotel and its amenities, the statement said.

Prince Alwaleed and Talal Almaiman, executive director for development and domestic investments and FS Riyadh management, toured the renovation.

The luxury hotel is situated in the upscale and visually distinctive Kingdom Centre, and it currently offers 249 spacious guest rooms, plus 32 suites, it said.

All the accommodation is light and airy, and the hotel’s elevated location ensures that every room offers spectacular views over the Saudi capital.

Located close to the key sites for commerce, as well as arts, culture and shopping, the hotel offers discerning travelers an ideal base from which to explore, whether they are visiting on business or for leisure, the statement said.

The Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh is under the management of Four Seasons in which Kingdom Holding holds a 47.5 percent stake and is co-owned by Bill Gates’ Cascade in which the company also holds a 47.5 percent stake, and 5 percent of the Four Seasons is owned by Isadore Sharp. – TradeArabia News Service
