3-month moratorium on Bahrain hotels fee

Manama, May 23, 2011

A five per cent fee levied on hotel services in Bahrain has been frozen for three months.

The Cabinet, chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, yesterday announced the moratorium, which will take effect on June 1 and run until September 1.

'The grace period stems from the government's keenness to ease the burden on hotels and revitalise the summer trade and tourism activities to attract visitors and tourists,' Cabinet Affairs Minister Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed said.-TradeArabia News Service
