Swiss-Belhotel to open new Oman property

Swiss-Belhotel International has signed an agreement with Al Farazdq Trading and Construction Company for the management of an international two-star hotel in Oman.

Swiss-Belhotel International is a rapidly expanding international management company with over 60 hotels, resorts and projects globally.

Swiss-Belexpress Muscat is the third property for Swiss-Belhotel in the Sultanate, said Thomas van Vliet, vice president (Operations & Development) Swiss-Belhotel International, The Middle East, after signing the deal with Mohammad Khalfan Al Ghasani, the owner of Al Farazdq Trading and Construction Company.

Swiss-Belexpress Muscat, conveniently located in Al Ghubrah, Muscat's prime business district, along Al Sultan Qaboos Street, at only a 15 minutes drive from Seeb International Airport, is due to open during the fourth quarter of this year.

The hotel will feature 95 air-conditioned rooms with en-suite facilities, desk, flat screen satellite TV, in-room safe, minifridge and hairdryer with other facilities and services to include a deli/ coffee shop, a business corner, disabled facilities, 24 hour room service, laundry/ dry cleaning facilities, airport transfers.

The property is in close proximity to shopping malls and public beaches, making it attractive for both business and leisure travellers.

Swiss-Belhotel International president and chairman Gavin Faull said, 'The addition of this new property in Oman is a confirmation of how strongly we believe in the continuous economic growth of Oman and in particular Muscat and our confidence in the region as a whole.'

'Swiss-Belhotel International is expanding rapidly on a global basis with almost 25 new hotel development projects in the Middle East and Asia Pacific and that with an expectation of achieving a hotel portfolio of close to 100 hotels by 2012,' he added.-TradeArabia News Service
